Cyber Intelligence Officer

This intensive three day course is designed to give intelligence officers and investigators a solid grounding in how individuals and state-sponsored actors use computers and what to be aware of when gathering intelligence or evidence as part of an investigation. Whilst considerably raising the delegates’ technical knowledge, this course is focussed on what law enforcement need to understand and complex concepts are explained in simple language.

Course Content

At the end of five content-packed days you will learn:

  • State sponsored attacks

  • The key parts of a computer

  • Key concepts of a computer’s identity

  • Operating systems

  • The home network and WIFI

  • The internet, Cloud Storage & Email

  • Cryptocurrencies and bitcoin

  • Introduction and exploration of the Dark Web

  • Cyber attack techniques

Course Delivery - Classroom

We will deliver this course at your site for up to 10 delegates. Every delegate will be supplied with a laptop with all of the necessary tools and equipment installed, so that they can get hands on and learn by doing. Although this course is not a practitioner course, it will give delegates a great understanding of how computers are used in crime, how the internet works and a great introduction to crypto currency and online marketplaces only accessible via the Tor network and the Dark Web.

What do our learners say about this training:

I found all of the content really useful. It would be impossible to understand the 'big picture' issues around cyber crime without basic knowledge of how computers, routers, storage, the internet, dark web, and encryption work. The trainer was really engaging with the class, using real life examples and analogies to explain the concepts he was teaching. I found his style, content and delivery made what could be a dull and difficult subject, much more interesting and easy to absorb. DP,  Metropolitan Police

Good delivery at the right level, well adapted to meet needs of P&P students. Trainer understood policing and pitched course at the correct level. David Roney, Superintendent, National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters
